Abstract
The following article focuses on the results of a research study about the emission of pipework flange joints. Five different flange-gasket combinatio ns. which are of so-called high quality, were investigated. The results sho w that all tested combinations meet the demands for high quality joints, bu t obvious differences between them occur. Especially the surface roughness of the flanges seems to have a great influence on the leak rate.
