Abstract
PV. Danckwerts's work provides a springboard for an examination of issues d ealing with creativity in research and acceptance of new viewpoints. When i s a concept ready to be embraced and to what extent can an advance be prema ture? I argue that the visual arts offer thought-provoking analogies and ex amples are used to illustrate various points.
