Abstract
The taxonomy, habitat and biogeography of Tuber oligospermum (Ascomycota) a re reported, and its most important macroscopic and microscopic features ar e discussed. I: oligospermum is an edible truffle found only in the Mediter ranean region; it is a circum-Mediterranean species. T. oligospermum posses ses several distinctive features including irregular swelling ascomata, oli gosporous asci with short pedicels and reticulate, spherical ascospores.
