Abstract
Advances in technology and basic sciences this past decade have transformed neurobiological research. Practitioners looking prospectively in 1990 coul d hardly have hoped for the diagnostics and rational therapeutics that have become part of regular practice today. Here, we discuss three areas that h ave had great impact: genetics, cell death, and stem cell/gene therapy rese arch.
