Abstract
80 x 10.66Gbit/s wavelength division multiplexing transmission over 3200km fibre with 100km amplifier spacing and 50GHz channel spacing is demonstrate d. Error-free transmission of all 80 channels is achieved by employing dist ributed Raman amplification, forward error correction and low dispersion sl ope TrueWave(R) fibre.
