A wealth of data have been obtained on charmed hadrons and their decays dur
ing the last few decades. Theoretically, weak hadronic decays have posed se
rious problems, as the measured quantities result from a complicated interp
lay of weak and strong interactions. Earlier, it was expected that these de
cays could be explained on the basis of factorizable decay mechanism. Howev
er, available data For weak hadronic decays of charmed hadrons clearly dema
nd nonfactorizable contributions. In this paper, the author investigates th
ese contributions to exclusive weak decays of charmed mesons and baryons.
