Abstract
If N subset of or equal to M is an inclusion of type III factors of finite index on a separable Hilbert space, and if N has a Cartan subalgebra then w e show that H-n(N, M) = 0 for n greater than or equal to 1. We also show th at H-cb(n)(N; M) = 0, n greater than or equal to 1, for an arbitrary finite index inclusion N subset of or equal to M of von Neumann algebras.
