Abstract
The effect of whisker orientation on the electrical properties of SiCw/Si3N 4 composites was investigated, using the principle of complex impedance. Th e impedance spectra of the composites exhibited significant dependence on w hisker orientation. Based on the experimental results and the microstructur e of the composites, the impedance mechanisms were discussed and a correspo nding equivalent-circuit model was presented, which agreed well with the ex periments.
