Abstract
Archaeological textiles are prepared and radiocarbon dated by two different methods and the results compared to demonstrate the effective removal of c ontaminating carbon. The distributions of ages of textiles measured at the Rafter Radiocarbon Lab fall into two categories and are not the result of r andom mixing between sample and contaminant.
