alpha decay measurements for Os-162, W-158, and W-158m are presented. Os-16
2 was produced via fusion evaporation of a 270 MeV Ni-58 beam on a Cd-106 t
arget and then implanted in a doubled-sided silicon strip detector (DSSD).
The Os-162-W-158 alpha -decay mother-daughter correlation was then studied.
W-158m was directly populated in a similar experiment with a Pd-102 target
. Using the measurements obtained for Os-162 [E-alpha = 6600(3) keV, t(1/2)
= 1.9(2) ms], W-158 [E-alpha = 6445(3) keV, t(1/2) = 1.5(2) ms, b(alpha) =
96(6)%], and W-158m [E-alpha = 8286(7) keV, t(1/2) = 0.14(2) ms], alpha -r
educed widths were calculated.
