Abstract
The effect of electrical diaphragm-target coupling on the formation of ion component characteristics of a laser-produced plasma is considered. When th e target and the diaphragm are insulated from each other and are under a fl oating potential, a high-energy ion peak is observed and the integral numbe r of ions and their multiplicity increase compared to the case when the tar get and the diaphragm are connected and grounded.
