Sf. Timashev et al., Deterministic quantum chaos in the system of vibration-rotation levels of porphyrin molecules according to IR spectroscopy data, RUSS J PH C, 74, 2000, pp. S1-S12
The IR spectra of porphyrins were shown to demonstrate the existence of int
ernal interrelations in the system of vibration-rotation levels in the "fin
gerprint" region (in the wave number range k similar to 400-1700 cm(-1)), w
here a peculiar "quantum chaos" (a "pale" with a seemingly chaotic distribu
tion of absorption bands) is observed. An analysis by the "flicker-noise sp
ectroscopy" method shows that the parameters characterizing these interrela
tions within the limits of correlation lengths are peculiar to each porphyr
in molecule. This opens up the possibility of classifying porphyrins accord
ing to their IR spectra by means of the introduction of some auxiliary para
meters in addition to absorption bands considered traditionally. These para
meters characterize the whole fingerprint region and, through this, introdu
ce deterministic elements into quantum chaos.
