Eh. Cohen et al., The cognitive domain of the quality of life of university students: A re-analyses of an instrument, SOCIAL IND, 53(1), 2001, pp. 63-77
This paper presents the re-analysis of a previously published instrument, b
ased on Bloom's taxonomy, developed to measure the cognitive domain of the
quality of life of university students. The items in this instrument were a
ssessed using Guttman's Smallest Space Analysis. The findings generally sup
port Bloom's conceptualization, identifying 5 of 6 dimensions in the taxono
my: Knowledge, Comprehension, Application, Analysis, and Evaluation. The fi
ndings provide support for the enduring utility of Bloom's taxonomy, and re
inforce the ongoing need to test theoretically informed instruments using s
ophisticated statistical techniques.
