PREPERITONEAL LAPAROSCOPIC COLPOSUSPENSION FOR GENUINE STRESS URINARY-INCONTINENCE - A MODIFIED BURCH PROCEDURE

We describe a modified laparoscopic retropubic colposuspension in pati ents with genuine stress incontinence in a prospective study on laparo scopic treatment of genuine urinary stress incontinence after 12 month s of follow-up. A series of 10 women affected by genuine urinary stres s incontinence were treated laparoscopically by a modified Burch proce dure. The cure rate evaluated by clinical means 3, 6, and 12 months po stoperatively by urodynamic testing was 100 %. Preperitoneal laparosco pic colposuspension is a promising new approach for the treatment of g enuine urinary stress incontinence.
