Abstract
A series of allyl ketones were synthesized from the mixture of zinc, nitril e and allyl bromide in the presence of AlCl3 via Barbier-type reaction cond ition. When crotyl bromide was used for the allylation, only the gamma -add uct was produced via the S(E)2' pathway under the reaction condition. (C) 2 000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
