Laparoscopic cryoablation seems to be an effective treatment modality for s
mall peripheral renal tumors. The technique is minimally invasive, has a ra
pid learning curve, results in minimal blood loss and morbidity, and, to da
te, has demonstrated precise reliable ablation of small renal neoplasms. Lo
ng-term follow-up is necessary to confirm the absence of local tumor recurr
ence or distant or port-site metastases.
