Y. Tang et al., Crystallization and preliminary X-ray analysis of earthworm fibrinolytic enzyme component A from Eisenia fetida, ACT CRYST D, 56, 2000, pp. 1659-1661
Earthworm fibrinolytic enzyme component A, a protein which functions both a
s a direct fibrinolytic enzyme and a plasminogen activator, was purified fr
om the earthworm Eisenia fetida. Diffraction-quality single crystals of the
protein were grown by the hanging-drop vapour-diffusion technique with amm
onium sulfate as a precipitant. The crystals belong to the orthorhombic spa
ce group P2(1)2(1)2(1), with unit-cell parameters a = 40.6, b = 127.5, c =
129.2 Angstrom and three molecules per asymmetric unit. The data set reache
d a resolution of 1.95 Angstrom.
