We determine the hadronic two-body decay modes of the scalarisoscalar f(0)(
1370), f(0)(1500) and f(0)(1710) states as resulting from the mixture of th
e lowest lying scalar glueball with the isoscalar states of the ground stat
e P-3(0) quark-antiquark (Q (Q) over bar) nonet. In addition we study the p
roduction properties of the f(0) states in proton-antiproton (p (p) over ba
r annihilation reactions of the type p (p) over bar --> pi (0)f(0) The quan
titative predictions both for the decay and the production emphasize the ro
le of the gluonic components in the f(0) states and its observable conseque
nces.
