Wga. Ibrom et al., SYNTHESIS AND ANTIMYCOBACTERIAL ACTIVITY OF NITROXANTHONES .2. ANTIMYCOBACTERIAL ACTIVITY, Arzneimittel-Forschung, 47(6), 1997, pp. 767-773
The mono-, di-, tri- and tetranitroxanthones have been tested against
different mycobacteria by means of the Agar diffusion method resulting
in minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC) and for more precise inter
pretation by means of the bacterial growth kinetics method. Nitroxanth
ones with the 2,4-dinitrosubstitution pattern show activities beyond 1
mu g/ml.
