Abstract
Fertile specimens of Asterotheca frenguellii Archangelsky and de la Sota no v. comb. are described. The material is found in Lower Permian strata of th e Rio Genoa Formation, Tepuel-Genoa Basin, west of Chubut Province. The ori ginal specimens have been previously assigned to Pecopteris (Asterotheca?) frenguellii Archangelsky and de la Sota. New and better preserved fertile s pecimens were recently found granting their assignation to the genus Astero theca, in the sense of Stubblefield here adopted.
