Hind limb osteoderms of an individual assigned to Glyptodon clavipes Owen,
from the Pleistocene of Uruguay are described. A great number of these bone
s were observed in the foot, as well as in the calf and thigh. These elemen
ts had been cited for gliptodonts, but their form and distribution had neve
r been studied.
