Dc. Nkemayim et al., Uterine rupture in pregnancy subsequent to previous laparoscopic electromyolysis - Case report and review of the literature, ARCH GYN OB, 264(3), 2000, pp. 154-156
Reports about uterine rupture in pregnancy subsequent to previous laparosco
pic surgery are not frequent. This may be due to the lack of long term foll
ow up of patients who had undergone this surgery rather than the rarity of
this complication. A case of uterine rupture subsequent to laparoscopic myo
mectomy is reported. An increasing rate of the occurrence of this complicat
ion is reviewed in current literature, thus reiterating the need for more s
tringent selection criteria for patients who benefit from this surgical tec
hnique.
