Abstract
We describe the creation of a test set containing secretory and non-secreto ry proteins. Five existing prediction programs for signal sequences and the ir cleavage sites are compared on the basis of this test set: SPScan, SigCl eave, SignalP V1.1, SignalP V2.0.b2-HMM and SignalP V2.0.b2-NN.
