Abstract
This study evaluates the impact of cadmium and zinc interaction on the amou nt of soluble proteins, CO2 fixation, stomatal conductance and intercellula r CO2 contents in regenerants of B. monniera. The regenerants were grown fo r 16 weeks on MS medium containing cadmium and zinc in various concentratio ns. Cadmium decreased the stomatal conductance, photosynthetic rate and roo t growth but increased the protein content. Additional supply of zinc in th e medium reduced the adverse effects of cadmium on these parameters.
