Abstract
Clock recovery from a 160Gbit/s optical time-division-multiplexed data stre am is experimentally demonstrated using an electroabsorption modulator-base d phase-locked loop. The recovered clock signal exhibits excellent stabilit y, with an RMS timing jitter of < 230fs, a dynamic range of 25dB, and a loc king range of 16MHz.
