Abstract
Monte Carlo experiments are used to investigate the adsorption of argo n on a heterogeneous solid with a periodic distribution of surface ene rgy. A study is made of the relation between the adsorbate molecule's diameter and the distance between the sites of maximum surface energy on the critical temperature, the observed phase changes, and the comme nsurability of the surface phase structure determined in the simulatio n.
