Abstract
The reduction kinetics of metal oxides in alumina ceramics were studied by x-tay diffraction, electron probe x-ray microanalysis, and vacuum weighing. It is shown that the reduction process involves six stages, characteristic of topochemical reactions. The limiting stage of reduction is identified f or different sample compositions and porosities.
