Standardizing the nomenclature of Martian impact crater ejecta morphologies

The Mars Crater Morphology Consortium recommends the use of a standardized nomenclature system when discussing Martian impact crater ejecta morphologi es. The system utilizes nongenetic descriptors to identify the various ejec ta morphologies seen on Mars. This system is designed to facilitate communi cation and collaboration between researchers. Crater morphology databases w ill be archived through the U.S. Geological Survey in Flagstaff, where a co mprehensive catalog of Martian crater morphologic information will be maint ained.
