Abstract
Lewis acid-catalyzed alpha -amidoalkylation of enolizable aldehydes with N- (alpha -benzotriazolyl-alpha -arylalkyl)amides followed by intramolecular F riedel-Crafts cyclization provides a convenient route to 2-substituted 1-am idoindenes.
