Buccal preparations of nitrates in cardiology. Recommendations for physicians

Data on significance of relatively novel drug form of nitrates - buccal pre parations - for the treatment of angina, myocardial infarction and heart fa ilure are presented. Concrete drugs are described in detail with special em phasis on trinitrolong and dinitrosorbilong - original drugs made in Russia . Comparison of these drugs with other drug forms of nitrates is also given . The paper contains explicit recommendations on indications for buccal nit rates and methods of their administration. It is concluded that buccal prep arations of nitrates are characterized by high efficacy, convenience of use , and reasonable cost.
