L. Tsonev et M. Petrov, Scanning of the surface polar angle values in liquid crystal cells using the surface memory effect, LIQ CRYST, 27(12), 2000, pp. 1691-1694
An optical polarization method for indication of recorded oriented smectic
C textures by the process of surface memorization and their accumulation an
d storage in the nematic temperature range is presented. The recorded accum
ulated data are identified with the surface conditions-the polar and azimut
hal angles. Using strong boundary conditions the assumption is made that th
e interval for recorded and accumulated textures increases when the anchori
ng energy is weak.
