Abstract
Public health issues encompass the health care system itself and the societ y as a whole. The health care system must face several changes or issues: a geing and persisting inequalities in health and access to health care, the difficult management of new technologies and of the health care system itse lf. But this professional approach must be challenged by a democratic one w here public health enters into the public arena.
