Abstract
Stress-time correspondence principle discovered experimentally by O'Shaughn essy already in 1948 [1] is considered. Using the Doolittle formula for the viscosity as a function of free volume 12], an equation for the generalize d temperature-stress shift factor a(T,sigma) is obtained. An equation for t he stress-dependent shift factor a(sigma) follows as a special case. The eq uation for the temperature shift factor a(T) already derived in 1985 [3] an d successfully used since also follows from the a(T,sigma) formula.
