Dynamic rod worth measurement

The dynamic rod worth measurement (DRWM) technique is a method of quickly v alidating the predicted bank worth of control rods and shutdown rods. The D RWM analytic method is based on three-dimensional, spacetime kinetic simula tions of the rapid rod movements. Its measurement data is processed with an advanced digital reactivity computer. DRWM has been used as the method of bank worth validation at numerous plant startups with excellent results. Th e process and methodology of DRWM are described, and the measurement result s of using DRWM are presented.
