Spatial solitons in planar glass structures can create reconfigurable guidi
ng channels where low-intensity light bits can propagate. By using 3-ps-lon
g pulses the solitonic regime has been reached and, within this solitonic c
hannel, a picosecond signal at the typical intensities of the fibre telecom
munications was carried. At the output the carried signal had the same size
