New unsymmetrical thioether- and thiolate-substituted ferrocene ligands and an unusual bridged-Pd dimer complex

A series of new unsymmetrical 1, 1'-disubstituted ferrocenediyl ligands fea turing thioether or thiolate substituents have been conveniently synthesise d and, as an example of their coordinating ability, a bridged palladium dim er has been formed and structurally characterised.
