Using a new Bayesian method for solving inverse quantum problems, potential
s of quantum systems are reconstructed from time series obtained by coordin
ate measurements in nonstationary states. The approach is based on two basi
c inputs: (i) a likelihood model, providing the probabilistic description o
f the measurement process as given by the axioms of quantum mechanics, and
(ii) additional a priori information implemented in form of stochastic proc
esses over potentials. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
