Abstract
Photoinitiated poly(acrylamide) gel (PAG) formation under the conditions of free convective motions in the reaction mixture was studied. The regions o f the frontal and volumetric reaction development in the mixture were deter mined by method of the conversion field visualization. A joint comparative analysis of the optical and mechanical properties of PAG samples showed tha t the intensity of convective motions in the liquid monomer mixture signifi cantly affects the PAG structure and properties.
