Abstract
A respiratory gating technique was developed to allow computed tomography-g uided needle biopsy of small pulmonary nodules. Twenty-three pulmonary nodu les less than 15 mm in diameter underwent biopsy with the use of this techn ique. There were 14 true-positive, eight true-negative, and one false-negat ive result (diagnostic accuracy, 96%). The diagnostic accuracy for small no dules without this technique in a historical control was 69% (P < .05).
