Commercial oils preparation from hydrocracked base oil

The paper presents data regarding the formulation of a commercial oil, from a hydrocraked base oil, with a LUBRIZOL 4970- and PLEXOL 956- type additiv es package. The characteristics of the oil thus got are compared with those of a reference oil, of the same class, manufactured by a traditional compa ny in the field, and which is sold on the Romanian market. The oil formulat ed this way has the characteristics of the multigrade oils, manufactured af ter 1989, of the SAE 10W/40 class, capable to ensure MAS lubrication. The d ata obtained rendered evident the fact that the hydrocracked oils can be su ccessfully used in the formulation of various multigrade oil grades.
