Abstract
Mixed-ligand complexes LnL{(i-C4H9)(2)PS2}(3) (Ln = pr, Nd, Sm, Eu; L = 1,1 0-phenanthroline, 2,2'-bipyridine) were synthesized. The obtained compounds were stable in air. The structures of the complexes [EuPhen{(i-C4H9)(2)PS2 }(3)] and [Eu(2,2'-Bipy){(i-C4H9)(2)PS2}(3)] and the symmetry and parameter s of the unit cells in [PrPhen{(i-C4H9)(2)PS2}(3)] and [Pr(2,2'-Bipy){(i-C4 H9)(2)PS2}(3)] were determined by X-ray diffraction analysis (CAD-4 diffrac tometer, MoKalpha radiation, 2953 and 1151 F-hkl, R = 0.0502 and 0.0458). T he crystals of [EuPhen{(i-C4H9)(2)PS2}(3)] are triclinic, a = 10.510(2) Ang strom, b = 14.722(3) Angstrom, c = 16.864(3) Angstrom; a = 102.95(3)degrees , beta = 97.53(3)degrees, gamma = 107.93(3)degrees, V = 2362.5(8) Angstrom (3), Z = 2, space group P (1) over bar. The crystals of [Eu(2,2'-Bipy) {(i- C4H9)(2)PS2}(3)] are orthorhombic, a = 16.788(3) Angstrom, b = 19.779(4) An gstrom, c = 28.005(6) Angstrom; V = 9299(3) Angstrom (3)(,) Z = 8, space gr oup Pbca. The structures are composed of separate monomeric molecules in wh ich the Eu atom has a distorted dodecahedral coordination (EuN2S6). The Phe n, 2,2'-Bipy, and(i-C4H9)(2)PS2- ligands are coordinated in a bidentate cyc lic fashion. The patterns of molecular packing and the type of their intera ction in the structures are considered.
