The details of the environment of 664 crystallographic sorts of alkali meta
ls (M) in the structure of 407 fluorine compounds were analyzed in terms of
Voronoi-Dirichlet (VD) polyhedra. New procedures based on the VD polyhedro
n notions were applied to determine the composition of the coordination sph
ere of atoms M. The dimensions of the domain of influence of atom M are ind
ependent of its coordination number. The features of the interatomic distan
ce distributions in the coordination sphere: of atoms M R(M-L) for L = O an
d F are analyzed. The homogeneity of the array of atoms L surrounding atom
M is higher in the case of fluorine compounds.
