Abstract
Functional status in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) as assessed by the HAQ is po orer in the West of Scotland than the USA or elsewhere. There is a possible link with social deprivation, which is common within the Greater Glasgow H ealthboard area. Our aim was to determine if differences in lifestyle could contribute to the poorer functional outcome found in socially deprived pat ients.
