Lk. Ramaiya et al., GENETIC-EFFECTS OF TESTICULAR INCORPORATION OF CS-137 IN MICE, Mutation research. Mutation research letters, 324(4), 1994, pp. 139-145
A comparative estimation of the frequencies of genetic disorders induc
ed in germ cells of male mice by a single or long-term exposure to inc
orporated Cs-137 or to external gamma-radiation has been carried out.
The frequencies of dominant lethal mutations induced by a single expos
ure were similar with both types of radiation. In stem cell spermatogo
nia the frequency of reciprocal translocations was significantly lower
in the case of single Cs-137 administration than upon external gamma-
radiation. Upon long-term administration the genetic efficiencies of b
oth types of radiation were similar.
