Abstract
Denitrifying enzyme activity (DEA) declined to a greater extent and was mor e variable in soils stored air-dried for 6 months than after storage at 4 d egreesC. DEA was greatest in fertilized soils. The relative differences in DEA between soils were maintained after storage at 4 degreesC. We suggest t hat storage at 4 degreesC is more appropriate than air-drying.
