Abstract
Two polymeric supports along with two different linkers for attachment to O -4 of carbohydrate-derived glycals were evaluated for the solid phase synth esis of new glycosteroids 9 and 16. From these studies it can be concluded that soluble MPEG-ethers are less well suited polymeric supports for automa ted synthesis of glycoconjugates. Furthermore, it was found that glycosylat ion proceeds with much higher selectivity with polymer-bound glycals 3a and 12 compared to the solution variant.
