Abstract
Novel aspects of titanocene catalysed 5-exo cyclizations have been investig ated. A model for the diastereoselectivity of the process is proposed. The synthesis of preparatively important [n.3.0] bicyclic systems is establishe d and a potentially useful catalytic approach to the synthesis of tetrahydr ofuran systems is introduced.
