Abstract
alpha -Methoxybenzamides 11, which are convenient precursors of acyclic N-a cylimines, can be cleanly generated in high yields via a free radical proce ss starting from an o-aminobenzamide 16 derived from an N-t-butyl or N-cumy l secondary amine. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
