The morphology of the species Ditestolepis crassisaccata Sawada, Asakawa 19
92 from shrews of Kunashir Island was investigated. This cestode is found t
o have serial heteronomous growth of proglottids, and each series consists
of male and hermaphrodite parts. Mature segments of the male part possess o
nly male generative organs, male and female copulatory apparatuses. The mat
ure hermaphrodite segments have both male and female generative organs and
also male and female copulatory apparatuses. The internal seminal vesicule
is absent. re cirrus sack coil has the semen duct in the fundal part. In th
e apical part of the scolex parenchyma there is a glandular organ that look
s like an oval sack with thin wails. The mature proglottids contain additio
nal copulative adaptations (sacculus aseccorius) that look like a sack arme
d with fine bristles. The uterus develops only in segments of the hermaphro
dite part. It is shoe-shaped in the beginning and concave behind; then its
form becomes sack-like. Degraded segments of the male part and mature uteru
s segments of the hermaphrodite part are separated from strobila one by one
or small groups.
