Preliminar evaluation of performance in topcrosses between vegetable type and grain type soybean

Studies were conducted to evaluate the performance of topcrosses between fo od type soybean (with tendency to low physiological quality of the seeds) w ith two adapted grain type, seeking to associate adequate human food charac teristics with adaptability. The conclusions were: a) The best topcrosses f or vegetable type soybean were obtained predominantly with 'FT-2` and for s eed yield with 'Doko'; b) The evaluated topcrosses presented high sensibili ty to winter conditions in comparison to summer, consequently the selection process in the winter it must be avoided; c) The selection for food type s oybean it must be established in adequate values between individual plant y ield and one hundred seed weight.
